"before you
learn how
to make art

learn to
take joy in
making art."

Ari Elmayan is a sketchbook artist and NYS Certified educator who believes that the page is a sanctuary for the self. Her work explores the intersections of identity, emotion, and personal narrative, utilizing the sketchbook not just as a tool for art, but as a map for the internal landscape.

With a mission to help others "show up to the page," Ari guides both children and adults through the transformative power of creative practice. Her teaching philosophy is rooted in self-care, exploration, and radical play. By stripping away the pressure of the finished product, she encourages students to dive into personal prompts that serve as a compass—helping them navigate through curiosity and find their way back home to themselves.
