Up Close and Personal

    Ariana Elmayan is a contemporary artist and art educator based in New York. She obtained her Master's Degree of Art Education from NYU with a Bachelors in Fine Arts from the Fashion Institute of Technology.
     She is formally trained in many aspects of art such as drawing, painting, photography, printmaking, sculpture, coding and UX design, animation, art history, and illustration. Ariana is a New York artist of Armenian, Chinese and Italian heritage, she loves to incorporate her culture and values into her art, notable in her choice of materials, color and design. 
    Being environmentally conscious, she uses art as a way to upcycle materials and incorporate them in her design with the aim of turning discarded material into everlasting beauty. She hopes this message can translate to her students and viewers and lead to conscious decisions that help our planet.
      She is motivated by social justice causes and inquiry-based learning. She hopes to use art and design to teach her students core values such as critical thinking, empathy and equality. Empowering her students to use art as a medium to express themselves, her main goal is to be a guiding light of positivity and exploration for her students and for others.
