Ariana Elmayan is an art educator based in New York. She is formally trained in many aspects of art such as drawing, painting, photography, printmaking, digital illustration, welding, photography, sculpture, coding, UX design, animation, art history and tradional illustration. She is motivated by social justice causes and inquiry-based learning. Her main goal is to be a guiding light of positivity & exploration for her students.

-Taught and engaged 9-12th grade students in remote and in-person curriculum centered around identity, empowerment and social change

Friends Academy, Locust Valley August 2021-Present
-Created and facilitated inquiry-based curriculum for grades K-12 in Studio Art, Digital Illustration, Digital Photography
-Facilitated murals with 5th grade student bodies
-Mentor for Honors Arts Program, engaged in guiding and supporting students to achieve their artistic goals
-Taught innovative courses such as Financial Literacy and Designs in Medicine that involved real world problem solving with a partner/client

Children's Museum of the Arts, Soho January-July 2021
-Led summer camps, and residencies designed to bring art programs to underserved schools across New York City-Facilitated art-making with New York City public by setting up and running art booths in Soho during the summer. Children and adults alike explored and represented the theme of "peace", to later be used in a public mural

- Communicated abstract concepts and ideas to English language learners using text, visuals, demos and repetition

-Led lessons on critical media literacy, artist discussions, LGBTQ and Gender History, gender roles perpetuated by media and ads, and facilitated discussion and redesigning of spaces, fashion, ads, statues, etc to go beyond binary gender
